An’Komba, Nosy Komba
An intimate boutique hotel on Nosy Komba overlooking the ocean
Set high on the slopes of Nosy Komba, An’Komba is a small and beautifully positioned boutique hotel surrounded by three hectares of tropical vegetation, volcanic rock and uninterrupted ocean views.
With only eight rooms and suites, the property feels more like a private island retreat than a conventional hotel. Its elevated, east-facing position captures the first light of the day, while its terraces, living spaces and remarkable rock pool make the most of the surrounding landscape.
An’Komba will appeal to travellers looking for privacy, tranquillity and a more refined Nosy Komba experience, with attentive service and just a handful of fellow guests.
A private retreat in nature
An’Komba has been designed around the natural contours of the hillside. Stone, vegetation and open views form part of the experience, with peaceful spaces where guests can read, relax or simply watch the changing light over the ocean.
The main living areas include an indoor lounge, bar and several sea-facing terraces. The atmosphere is calm and understated, combining the privacy of a villa with the service and facilities of a boutique hotel.
At the heart of the property is a swimming pool carved directly into the rock. Overlooking the ocean and tropical vegetation, it is one of An’Komba’s most distinctive features and a wonderful place to cool off after exploring the island.
Dining at An’Komba
Breakfast is served at Le Belvédère, an elevated, open-air dining space reserved for hotel guests. Its east-facing position makes breakfast a particularly lovely part of the day, with views over the ocean and the early morning light.
Dining at Al Porto
Set beside the water at An’Komba’s boat-arrival point, Al Porto is an open-sided restaurant built beneath an impressive thatched roof supported by sculptural natural timber columns. Woven pendant lights, tropical planting and flashes of turquoise give the spacious dining area a relaxed island character, while the open design allows in plenty of natural light and sea air.
The restaurant provides a beautiful setting for lunch or dinner, with tables arranged beneath the soaring roof and views towards the surrounding coastline and ocean. Although it forms part of the An’Komba experience, Al Porto also welcomes outside diners who arrive by boat, giving it a little more energy than the hotel’s quieter, guest-only spaces.

Air-Conditioned Executive Suites
The Executive Suites are An’Komba’s most exclusive accommodation. Spacious and light, they have air conditioning and large private terraces with sweeping 180-degree views across the ocean.
Each suite also includes a bathroom, mini fridge and dressing area. These are the best choice for guests who place particular importance on privacy, expansive views and air-conditioned comfort.
Family Rooms
The two Family Rooms can accommodate up to four guests, making them suitable for families or small groups who would like to stay together.
Each Family Room has a private balcony, bathroom, mini fridge and dressing area. The Family Rooms are cooled by fans rather than air conditioning.
The disappearing island
Just offshore from An’Komba is a sandbank that appears and disappears with the tides.
When weather and tidal conditions allow, the hotel’s private boat takes guests across in the morning. It is a wonderfully simple excursion, offering the chance to swim in clear water and experience a fleeting little island surrounded by the sea.
Time to slow down
Above the swimming pool, Le Kiosque provides another quiet space for guests to relax. It includes a billiards table and is a comfortable spot for reading, playing a game or meeting for a drink at the end of the day.
An’Komba is not about busy resort entertainment. The experience centres on the setting, the views and the freedom to enjoy Nosy Komba at an unhurried pace.
