Sambatra Beach Lodge is situated off the North East Coast of the Main Land Madagascar, across from the Southern tip of Ile Sainte Marie, a paradise called Ile Aux Natte Island. This is the place to stay if you are looking for Ockie of La Petite Traversee.
Sambatra Beach Lodge is an ENGLISH speaking lodge, as it is owned and managed by a South African English speaking group. They will try their best to accommodate all nationalities with their management speaking English, Afrikaans, French and Spanish. For those who remember La Petite Traversee - Ockie is part owner of Sambatra now - so that is already a really good excuse to stay here!
You will be welcomed with friendly personal service and comfy beach front bungalows. There are just 6 bungalows just a few steps away from crystal clear waters and a wide beautiful beach for sunbathing, it truly is an island paradise.
Guests are treated with a “Home Away From Home” atmosphere with healthy, tasty home cooked meals from the kitchen. Whilst I have yet to visit Sambatra, knowing that Ockie Snyman is involved then I am certain his famous Crab Curry will be a part of the menu! Their friendly staff is efficient and willing to help.
The Bungalows ensure comfort and space for your time spent at Sambatra. Individually decorated, each bungalow has an en suite hot water shower, basin and toilet. Entrance’s to the bungalows have a private covered patio with an amazing view of Sambatra’s Reef, with a back drop of main land Madagascar offering beautiful afternoon sunsets.
