Nosy Iranja

Nosy Iranja

Nosy Iranja:

Unless you are on a charter holiday or staying at Zahir Nosy Iranja, at Nosy Saba in the south or at Tsarabanjina in the north (which is the epitome of paradise in its own right) then make sure you book a day excursion down to Nosy Iranja.  About 1.5 hours by speed boat Nosy Iranja has many times been voted the most beautiful of all Indian Ocean Islands.  Split by a 750m sand bank at high tide it becomes two islands.  Turtles nest here. The walk up to the lighthouse (built by Gustav Eiffel) is a must for a panoramic view like no other.

Included in this day’s outing is a visit to Nosy Antsoa – a small uninhabited island that is home to 7 species of lemur.  They are habituated and therefore an ‘up close and personal’ experience is a certainty.  A visit to this island is almost always included in a charter holiday.
