Our Opinion:This hotel is right out of the early 20th Century. The building itself (and the out buildings) were built in 1904 by a Belgian and the present owners bought and renovated the property. Loving touches and quaint antiquity add character to an already other-worldly establishment. Crystal, and crisp, white linen adorn the tables and a huge log fire (wonderful in the winter months) dominates the large restaurant. The rooms are all suite size with sitting areas, vast bathrooms and each has a CD player for background music.

Definitely the "grand old lady" of Madagascar, Le Domaine is the exclusive place to stay if you are exploring the Mont d'Ambre National Park.
